What We Believe

In Christianity, theology is the last refuge of a spiritually weak church.  Theology requires no faith, no love, and no sacrifice.  A faithless ‘Christian’ who has no real relationship with God can give mental assent to a list of doctrines, the same as the spiritually strongest Christian can.  So as the church weakened, it began to place greater emphasis on doctrine.

We must watch how we live and what we believe very closely.  (I Timothy 4:16)  One without the other is worthless.  But together they are powerful.

So what do we believe?

We believe the Bible is the absolute standard of truth; infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe there is only one God, externally present in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death on the cross for all people, in His bodily resurrection, and in His ascension to the right hand of the Father.

We believe all are children of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all who have been baptized into Christ have been clothed with Christ.  (Galatians 3)

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe the saved and the righteous of God will inherit eternal life, but the lost and those who reject God will go to eternal punishment.  (Matthew 25)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Jesus.
